Hadi El-Bagoury (born February 2nd, 1968) is an Egyptian director specialized in TV commercials and music videos. He will also be directing his first feature film by the end of 2008.
Hadi was born into a creative and supportive Egyptian family in Cairo, his father Gameel El-Bagoury is a journalist & TV Producer, his aunt is the famous actress Zizi El-Badrawy and his brother was the director / scriptwriter Sameh El-Bagoury. At the age of 6, Hadi traveled to Kuwait with his family but in 1980, they returned to Egypt for two years, and later went to the States to finish his high school. When he was 18 he came back to Egypt where he got his bachelor degree in tourism and hotel management.
In 1988 Hadi started career as a runner in “the emperor” starring Ahmed Zaki and Raghda, directed by Tarek Alarian, it was one of the biggest Egyptian movie productions at the time. In 1990 he worked as an assistant production manager on the movie “El basha” starring Ahmed Zaki and directed by Tarek Alarian.
He then started his professional career as a production manager for music videos and TV commercials and in 1993 he opened his own production house (PHI) and worked as a producer till 1999.
He started his directing career towards the end of 1999 with an advertising TV campaign.
His first notable music video was “Leila habibi” for the renowned Egyptian diva Samira Saeid, which was the cornerstone of his career pursuit as a director.
Hadi has directed ads for many famous international brands like Pepsi, Mcdonalds, KFC, Coca Cola, Renault, Nissan, Vodafone… and many more. To date, Hadi has directed over 300 TV commercials and 30 music videos.
